Job overview

The newly established role within the Research Insights team will leverage Preqin’s extensive proprietary database to produce actionable institutional grade research. The Research Insights team leads Preqin’s detailed research efforts, the majority of which sits behind a content subscription paywall.

In this role you will:

• Perform in-depth research and write high-quality analysis that contributes to Preqin’s institutional grade research agenda. The team is focused on alternative assets.
• Identify data-driven insights and trends from large data sets, with a focus on quality, accuracy and actionability
• Leverage tools and techniques for data analysis, including statistical and quantitative methods, collection tools, third-party tools and financial datasets
• Ensure Preqin’s data and content is highly focused, relevant and applicable to industry practitioners and our clients by constantly monitoring trends and themes, and engaging with the market

You are a good fit if:

• At least 5-years’ professional experience in a research environment
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Finance, Statistics or Economics, or equivalent experience; MSc, MBA, other advanced degree and/or CFA/CAIA designation is strongly preferred
• Experience in producing research addressing alternatives markets, such as private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, natural resources or hedge funds. Multi asset experience viewed favourably
• Strong analytical skills, with advanced Excel skills a minimum requirement. Additional data science and programming skills (Python, R, etc) highly desirable
• Strong writing and presentation skills. The recruitment process will include a written assessment
• Strong intellect, with an ability to quickly understand complex issues and grasp new concepts and ideas
• Experience in a client-facing role, with well-developed presentation skills
