The Director of Investor Relations & Sales will be fully integrated into a passionate and highly successful team of dynamic professionals building a business across Asia Pacific.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Institutional Investor is hiring a Director of Institutional Relations & Sales.
- This is a holistic and consultative-driven role where the individual will be developing and maintaining strong relationships with buy-side, asset owning institutions, while selling sponsored products to sell-side fund managers across Asia.
- The role requires the Director of Institutional Relations & Sales to think strategically and holistically about the region’s institutional financial industry, from the perspective of both buy-side investors and fund managers.
- There are two core functions of the role: the first is playing a critical part in developing audiences and inviting contacts to attend our events. The second is selling and closing conference sponsorship.
- The Director of Institutional Relations & Sales will conduct extensive research, prospecting and follow-up of new contacts as well as build and maintain relationships with existing firms. Most importantly, the Director will be closing business.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge and understanding of institutional investing industry and trends in Asia regionally (including Japan).
- High degree of professionalism and ability to develop quick trust and rapport with senior fund decision-makers and C-Suite fund managers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills that can transcend language and cultural barriers.
- Represent strong values across integrity, excellence, collaboration and respect.
- Provide the highest level of client service, anticipating stakeholder needs and delivering above and beyond their expectations through consultative solutions.
- Develop and execute sales strategy across markets and asset classes
- Identify new prospects
- Track progress in pipeline development and close business
- Self-motivated, tenacious and resilient with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Willingness to conduct frequent travel within the region.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree holder in finance, economics or related discipline.
- CFA or Post-graduate degree is an advantage.
· 5+ years of relevant experience within financial services with experience in either sales or relationship management.
· Demonstrated track record in developing relationships with institutional investors.
- Knowledge and fluency in any of the following a strong plus: Chinese, Korean, Japanese.
