Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) or ARC(S), is a not-for-profit charity based in Singapore. ARC(S) is dedicated to serving children and adults on the autism spectrum, to help these individuals lead meaningful and independent lives in society. ARC (S) offers a wide range of services: Pathlight School, and two social enterprises, The Art Faculty and Professor Brawn.
The Employability and Employment Centre (E2C) is the first autism-focused centre that offers services to enable people with autism to perform successfully in the workplace. It also offers services for employers who are interested in hiring people with autism in their companies.
The Team:
The team is responsible to train and support individuals with autism to find employment and thrive in areas that match their strengths and interests. This will enable them to earn a monthly salary and contribute to society and find a job that matches their learning style and is meaningful to them.
Your Impact and Contribution:
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Implementing customised coaching strategies to help clients succeed in the workplace under the supervision or guidance of job coaches, case managers and autism consultants
- Preparing documents, reports and other communication materials, where necessary, for the purpose of communicating information to parents, documenting site observations or incidence reporting
- Providing job training and support at external worksites to ensure clients meet work expectations of the employee
- Support clients in integrating in workplace environment, including managing relationships with co-workers and supervisors
- Participating in meetings and trainings to develop relevant knowledge and skills
Requirements
Your must-haves:
- A Diploma or GCE A level qualification
- Able to travel to offsite work locations, i.e. employer work sites, with possibility of more than one location a day
- Possess effective communication skills as required to communicate with external employers and workplace co-workers
- Strong organizational skills with strong detail orientation
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and challenging work environment
- Desire to learn about Autism and the passion to help special needs students/adults
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
