Senior Manager, Systems
Job Overview
Supports the development of well trained and mentored team members. Manages the day-to-day operational duties of the Systems team and handles personnel issues including hiring and termination recommendations. Maintains client satisfaction levels consistent or exceeding OpenLink standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert on Implementation Projects in specific functional area maintaining partial chargeability on one or more client accounts simultaneously
- Present the product solution to both client executive and user-level audiences within specific technical areas
- Serve as the internal escalation point / design authority for project issues for team members within a specific technical area
- Create, maintain, and educate on best practices for the technical elements of software
- Enhance, publish, and train staff regarding implementation best practices within specific functional area, coordinate with other functional areas
- Provide client implementation quality assurance reviews within specific functional area by ensuring alignment with OpenLink best practices and validate that the designed solution will meet the client's business/technical requirements
- Provide support to Services team, by responding to questions from the email distribution groups in specific technical areas
- Provide support to the Offsite Development Team in the design and development of Accelerators within the specific technical areas
- Provide sales/ presales support through estimation, document authoring for RFP/RFI responses, sales proposals and hands-on demonstrations in specific technical areas to meet the client's desired business requirements
- Identify and pursue sales opportunities for additional consulting work at customer sites. Provide information to Manager, Engagement Director or Account Manager as appropriate.
- Support Training, Documentation, and Quality Assurance Teams by providing best practices input in specific technical areas as needed
- Support product management on new enhancements, as required, while working to help review and prioritize/ advocate enhancement issues logged RAID / DTS/DTS in functional area.
- Serve as mentors and role models for the consulting staff within a specific functional area
- Personnel supervisor for HR issues for team members
- Coordinate the optimal utilization of resources at a task and personnel level with project manager
- Advise the management team of training requirements for consultants within a specific functional area
- Coordinate and conduct employee performance appraisals. Coordinate with PMO to create, maintain and educate on implementation and project management best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field
- PMP Certification preferred
- Ability to work as part of a project team structure and/or drive through solutions independently
- Ability to work onsite at client locations

- Proven strong client-facing skills and interpersonal skills
- Proven excellent written and oral communication skills at the executive level
- Proven excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Proven knowledge in structured projects and/or professional services methodologies
- Demonstrated experiences in vendor/client management
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in the Energy, Commodities or Financial Industry, Consulting or ETRM business
- Minimum 5+ years in a client facing delivery role or project management position either at OpenLink or other software/consulting company
- Minimum 5+ years support of Endur and/or Right Angle
- Proven track record for success in developing and leading a Consultancy team
- Proven knowledge of the following technologies; Cloud, SOA, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server administration, SQL Tuning/optimization, Data Models, Windows Server, Active Directory, .NET, IIS, Java, Integration concepts, VMware, Citrix, Perl. TIBCO
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio and Project
